Croatian top division side Hajduk Split have agreed a deal for out of favour Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem to join the team on a permanent deal after a successful time on loan from Boavista, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Awaziem made a shock move to the Croatian side last summer on a season long loan deal and he made the best of it with a total of 36 games in all competitions for the team. He surprisingly scored five goals in 28 league games.
That form also saw the team keep 9 clean sheets in the league with the 26 year old Nigeria international, who has fallen down the pecking order of the Super Eagles under new coach Jose Peseiro.
Hajduk has agreed to pay Boavista €1m for his signing and also 25% of his future transfer from the club. The deal has been agreed by all parties involved and his permanent signing is expected to be made official this month.
Capped 29 times by Nigeria, some sections of the Croatian press are reporting that he could be sold almost immediately his permanent signing is concluded with teams from Belgium, France and Germany reportedly weighing up a bid for him.
