Former Manchester City teen defender Tosin Adarabioyo says he is focus on gate crashing the England team to the 2022 World Cup after helping Fulham return to the English Premier League.

Two year ago he had talks with the then coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr but insisted on pursuing an international career with England. The country he has represented at several youth levels.

Prior to the World Cup qualifiers playoff against Ghana, he was once again approached by the technical crew of the Nigerian team but he declined the chance to be a part of the team.

He has now re-echoed his desire to play for England as he believe he has what it takes to play for England after an impressive season in the English Championship.

“I’ve definitely got the quality to be in the England squad. Every player’s concentration has to be on getting to the World Cup this winter — and that’s my goal”, he told the Sun when asked about his international future.

“I knew, because I was playing in the Championship, that it wasn’t going to be possible to get a call-up but it’s definitely possible now.

“My ambition this  season had to be just to play every week for Fulham and get them back into the Premier League.”
