Heerenveen of Holland star Chidera Ejuke will get his chance with the senior national team of Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has revealed after leaving the 22 year old out of his squad for the upcoming AFCON 2021 Qualifiers back to back games against Sierra Leone.

Ejuke’s omission led to lot of talks about the coach leaving out the forward who has been in fine form for Heerenveen following his move from Norwegian side Valerenga in the summer.

So far he holds the record for the best dribbler in the Dutch Eredivisie and he has also contributed ten goals with four assists in all competitions. A stat that is better than that of some players listed for the game against Sierra Leone.

” We can’t call up every player at the same time. It’s a process and players who are doing well will get a chance but we have to be consistent with the group we have been working with for the past few years and that’s what we are doing”, he explained while responding to questions on why Ejuke didn’t make the squad.
