‘ Don’t Play For Nigeria ‘ – English FA To Meet With Parents Of Arsenal Nigeria U20 Target Folarin Balogun

A meeting between the parents of ‎Arsenal rising star Folarin Balogun and top officials of the English FA has been arranged following his statement that he is open to switching allegiance to Nigeria, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.

Folarin was given birth to in the United States of America to Nigerian parents making him eligible to play for both nations and England as well where he is currently a member of their U18 squad.

The 17 year old who played for England at U17 level also played for United States of America U18 before switching to England and speaking during the course of the week he revealed he is open to representing Nigeria.

That statement has sparked a reaction from England who are now set to hold talks with the teen forward who has scored 20 goals in 22 youth games this season in all competitions for the U18 team of Arsenal.

Presently in camp with the U18 of England, coach of the Nigerian team Paul Aigbogun is yet to speak with the player or his parents, but he did contact a source close to the player in his bid to convince him to switch allegiance to Nigeria and play at the World Youth Championship.

Aigbogun plan meeting the player in person when he returns to England where he is based but a chance for the player to team up with the Nigeria U20 team if they succeed in camping in Europe for the World Youth Championship is his prime target for now.
