Official – Little Known Nigerian Forward Lawal Yusuf (Obagoal) Joins Lokeren From 36 Lions Fc

Belgium top division side Lokeren have completed the signing of relatively unknown Nigerian forward Lawal Yusuf after impressing the technical staff of the team during a short trial.

19 year old Yusuf signed a three year deal with Lokeren after an agreement was reached with his team in Nigeria 36 Lions hours before the end of the transfer window in Europe.

Yusuf according to reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial team had trials with a team in France last year but failed to bag a deal, no thanks to a thigh injury he picked up.

His signing brings to an end Lokeren’s search for a forward after their failed bid to bring in another Nigerian in Theophilus Solomon who opt for Gent, before finally settling for Partizan Belgrade.

The terms of the deal offered to Lawal was not known as at the time of filing in this reports, but 36 Lions will be hoping he helps build their reputation as a top football academy in Nigeria just like Imoh Ezekiel when he moved to Standard Liege.

He is popularly known and called Obagoal by close friends and teammates due to his similar style of play with former Inter-Milan and Newcastle United forward Obafemi Martins who now plays in China for Shanghai Shehua.
